FAQ
Things people ask me.
Something else on your mind? Send me a message and I’ll reply within 24 hours. WhatsApp me
How fit do I need to be?
You don’t need to be an athlete. Tell me how active you are and what you’d love to do, and I’ll suggest a route that challenges you just enough. Some routes involve scrambling and heights; I’ll always tell you upfront.
How much does it cost?
Table Mountain is R2,400 per person and Lion’s Head at sunrise is R1,950 per person, for a minimum of two people. Cape Point and Cederberg trips are tailored, so I’ll send you a price with your plan.
Can I book on my own?
Yes. All my hikes are private, so it’s just you and me. Solo bookings are charged at the two-person rate.
What’s included?
Your private guide, water, snacks, and hiking poles if you need them. Not included: park entry fees (for example at Cape Point), a cable car ticket if you choose to ride down from Table Mountain, and transfers.
How far ahead do I need to book?
The earlier the better to secure your preferred day, but I can often take bookings at short notice, even within 24 hours, if I’m available. For short notice, WhatsApp me.
What happens if the weather turns?
Cape Town’s weather changes fast, and your safety comes first. If conditions aren’t right, we’ll choose a different route or move to another day. [Cancellation and rescheduling policy to come]
Is it safe?
Your safety is my first priority. I’m a qualified adventure guide and a certified Wilderness First Responder (First Aid Level 3), and I plan every route around the conditions on the day and the people in front of me.
Can we take the cable car down?
Yes, many guests hike up and ride down. Tickets are for your own account, and the cable car sometimes closes in strong wind, so we always have a walking route down as a backup.
What should I bring?
Dress light and comfortable, in shoes with good grip. Bring a layer in case the weather turns, a small bag, a hat and sunscreen. I’ll provide water, snacks, and hiking poles if you need them.
